Drive to Khustai National Park, the homeland of the Przewalski’s horse (Takhi) — the last surviving subspecies of wild horse. Upon arrival we visit the Ger Museum for a short introduction to the history of the park and the famous reintroduction programme.

Next, drive to Ungut Mountain within the park to see the Ungut complex, a group of stone men (khun chuluu) dating back to the 6th–8th centuries AD. The complex, protected by the state since 2020, includes stone men, stone monuments of a sheep and a tiger, and a row of balbal stones.

Go ahead to the habitat of the Takhi, Przewalski's horses, the main attraction of the park. Here you can admire these unique wild horses and capture them in their natural environment. Enjoy a short hike in the hills to photograph the stunning landscape and local wildlife.

Overnight at a Tourist ger camp. Meals: Lunch, Dinner.

After breakfast, go ahead to Manzushir Monastery (1733) ruins in Bogd Khan Mountain National Park (140km). Manzushir (Manjushri) is the Buddhist deity of wisdom and mind.

At its peak the monastery had more than 20 temples and about 500 monks. Located on the forested slope of Bogd Khan Mountain, it was known as the “Ar Utai of Khalkha Mongolia”. The ruins have been protected by the state since 1998.

Next, drive to Terelj National Park, one of the pearls of the country's natural heritage and well known for its spectacular beauty. Its landscape is impressive with magnificent rocky mountain scenery.

After arriving in Terelj we have lunch at the tourist ger camp. In the afternoon we drive to Turtle Rock, an interesting rock formation looking like a turtle, and hike up to Ariyabal Buddhist Meditation Temple, a peaceful place to meditate and relieve city stress.

Accommodation: Tourist ger camp. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

After breakfast, you have the opportunity to visit a real Mongolian nomadic family, experience their daily lifestyle and taste Mongolian dairy products.

Then drive to the Chinggis Khaan Statue Complex, a 40 m (131 ft) stainless steel equestrian statue of Chinggis Khaan standing on the bank of the Tuul River at Tsonjin Boldog, 54 km east of Ulaanbaatar. You can walk up through the horse’s chest and neck to the viewing platform on its head for a panoramic view over the complex and the surrounding countryside. Frequently Asked Questions

A tourist ger camp is the main type of accommodation outside cities — set in open countryside, away from traffic and towns, for travellers who want to be surrounded by nature. A typical camp has 30–40 guest gers, a large ger restaurant, and a shared toilet and shower building.

Each standard ger is a traditional Mongolian ger (yurt) with beds, bedside tables, a table, chairs and a wood stove.
